Support Assistant in Personal Assistance

Are you passionate about making a difference in people's daily lives and providing support that truly matters? Then you could be our new support assistant in personal assistance!

Who are we?

The Social Office in Norrköping Municipality focuses on the individual's needs. It should be easy to get help. Our support and treatment efforts maintain high quality and are based on legally secure assessments.

We want to find solutions close to the individual and contribute to positive change. Together we want to create security and good social services for those of us living in Norrköping.

Personal assistance consists of four teams. We collaborate and help each other when needed. The operation is divided among four unit managers, three coordinators, and two payroll assistants. Together with about 100 support assistants and caregivers, we provide personal assistance to the users who have chosen the municipality as their provider.

The users have decisions through LSS or SFB, and based on that decision, we help our users achieve a functioning daily life, which includes support in everything from cooking and personal care to leisure activities.

We are now looking for a support assistant who can work awake nights with one of our care recipients.

Your tasks

As a support assistant, you are offered a meaningful role where you work in the homes of one or more users and assist them with what they have been granted based on their implementation plan. You help the user with personal hygiene, transfers, shopping, performing activities, and other household chores.

Your work is based on a user-oriented approach where users receive support and services based on their individual needs in a way that enables independence, self-determination, and participation according to their ability.

You primarily work nights (possibly occasional evenings) and every other weekend. Your work is based on the user's needs, which means that sometimes you work together with a colleague and sometimes alone.

The job also includes documenting the users' development and needs and following up to ensure that the user receives the right support and help.

Who are you?

For this position, we are looking for someone who is a trained support assistant. You have studied to become a nursing assistant, in the child and leisure program with a social focus, or have another education that the employer assesses as equivalent.

You have experience working as a personal assistant or support assistant. We would like you to have experience with low-arousal approaches, LSS, and caregiving work.

As a person, you are stable and secure in yourself. Since you often work alone, we see that you have a good ability to solve situations that arise independently.

You enjoy working with people and place great importance on maintaining a high quality in your interactions with users, relatives, and other partners in your daily work, such as managers and colleagues.

Personal maturity and empathetic ability are highly valued as they help you understand different situations that individuals may find themselves in, while still being able to remain professional and not take over their emotions.

Since we work with people, no day is the same; we believe you thrive in this environment and are flexible with changing circumstances that arise during the workday.

The position requires that you can communicate well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. Since the user has aids that require written communication, high language skills are required.

A driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are required as the user lives about 10-15 minutes outside central Norrköping and there is no bus service.

Welcome with your application!
