Your Responsibilities

We are now looking for a social worker with a focus on financial support, which means that you will receive and process new applications for financial assistance and ongoing support according to the Social Services Act, as well as investigate resources and barriers to self-sufficiency. You will have clients with short-term needs for financial assistance and clients with more long-term needs.

Your responsibilities include motivational work and coaching (MI) in connection with the investigative work to develop the client's opportunities for self-sufficiency. You will also coordinate external contacts with other community organizations such as the Migration Agency, the Employment Agency, the Social Insurance Agency, within the administration and Linköping Municipality, as well as other partners. Working with us provides a broad insight into the welfare chain and a good understanding of how society functions as a whole. We offer the challenge of meeting people in various life situations and being able to contribute to changes in their lives. If you believe in individuals' ability to find motivation for self-sufficiency and want to help create better conditions for them, this is the right job for you.

Your Workplace

The mission of the Integration and Labor Market Administration is to strengthen the opportunities for residents of Linköping who are in need of financial assistance to become self-sufficient and independent, as well as to contribute to the skills supply for Linköping Municipality and the business community. In the administration, we work closely with residents, businesses, the non-profit sector, authorities, and other public actors. The administration comprises about 300 employees and operates within the scope of the Labor Market Committee.

Within Employment and Support, there are the following units:

  • Reception
  • Integration (refugee reception, financial assistance, and labor market)
  • Complementary Measures
  • Employment and Support 1-3 (financial assistance)
  • Employment and Support 4-5 (labor market)

The Integration Unit works with the target group of newly arrived individuals and is responsible for the reception of newcomers. We process incoming applications and notifications regarding financial support and measures related to integration through work, studies, good economic balance, and housing. We continuously develop our working methods and evaluate our practices. Within the unit, various professionals support each other in shortening the establishment period for newcomers. We have unit coordinators, integration assistants, social workers, and labor market consultants who collaborate daily to create better conditions in housing, economic, and labor market issues.

Your workplace will be at Drottninggatan 45 in central Linköping. Working hours are scheduled from 7:50 AM to 5:00 PM, with shorter working hours until 4:00 PM during the summer months. We apply flexible working hours.

Who You Are

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or behavioral science. It is an advantage if you have taken courses in social work, social law, or administrative law, and have previous experience in processing financial assistance within social services.

We prefer candidates with prior experience working with the target group of newly arrived individuals and experience from a reception function. It is also advantageous if you have worked with individuals in need of support and have experience in labor market issues.

The work requires good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written forms, and we prefer candidates who are multilingual as the job involves many social contacts. Our working methods are partially digitized and involve contact with authorities and documentation, so it is beneficial if you have prior knowledge of the operational system Lifecare.

You are well-structured, plan and prioritize your work effectively, and ensure that deadlines are met. In stressful situations, you remain calm and stable, and have the ability to set clear boundaries when necessary. With high personal maturity and self-awareness, you manage relationships in a professional and balanced manner, adapting your behavior to the situation. You make quick decisions, act decisively, and thrive in collaborations where you communicate attentively and constructively. It is also positive if you are curious and not afraid to experiment in your work. We see this as part of individual development and an opportunity for the unit to continuously improve its work.
