Company Description
Hedskolan is a pleasant F-6 school and adapted primary school with approximately 500 students, located in a residential area close to the town center. The proximity to both the forest and ski trails is significant and is actively used by students and teachers in teaching and during breaks. The work teams are organized by stage and grade level, with close collaboration around all our students. The atmosphere is characterized by openness and curiosity towards new ways of working. We place great emphasis on pedagogical conversations and collegial learning, which is the driving force in our development work. The school’s profile focuses on movement and outdoor life.
Job Responsibilities
As a class mentor, you will follow a class in grades 4–6 throughout the day and, together with teachers, be responsible for creating safety, well-being, and a conducive learning environment. You will be an active resource in the classroom and after-school care, and you will also be responsible for supervising breaks and organizing break activities. You will have contact with guardians regarding social issues and thus also share responsibility with teachers for documentation regarding norms and values. Your role also includes substituting for staff absences at the school and after-school care. Your work includes responsibilities in after-school care, before and after school.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a high school education or other training that the employer deems equivalent. As a person, you should be positive, have a present and attentive approach to students' various needs. You create engagement and participation, are a clear leader, and have good collaboration skills. You are also flexible, independent, responsible, and able to take initiatives. Personal suitability is highly valued. Under the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an asset when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
A police record extract is required.

Working Hours/Duration
