Description
We are looking for a school counselor at Tuggeliteskolan and Skåreskolan.
Tuggeliteskolan, grades F-3, with approximately 150 students, is located on Skåreberget near forests and beautiful nature. The school is characterized by a high level of satisfaction among both students and staff. Skåreskolan is located in Skåre center with about 220 students in grades 2-6. The school is characterized by skilled staff who always prioritize the best interests of the students. For us, safety and a conducive learning environment are important. You will be part of the student health team at the school, contributing your knowledge within the psychosocial perspective. As a school counselor, you will be involved in the student health's generally directed work to promote students' learning, development, and health, as well as working preventively to remove barriers to learning, development, and health. The student health team collaborates with the school's other staff to create the best conditions for all students to achieve the educational goals.

Responsibilities
In your role as a school counselor, your tasks will include:
- contributing knowledge about students' general psychosocial health and social situation in the student health work
- adding psychosocial competence as support in the pedagogical work together with teachers and in the overall planning of the school's activities
- providing knowledge about risk and protective factors for students' health, social situation, learning, and development
- having significant responsibility in the school's structure and organization regarding values and equal treatment
- providing guidance and consultation to the school's other staff
- contributing knowledge about the community's support systems
- collaborating with other authorities, for example in efforts related to parental support.
- conducting conversations, such as support, motivational, and crisis conversations, as well as investigative and advisory conversations with individual students and their families related to the school situation
- at the principal's request, investigating and assessing the social and psychosocial situation of individual students, among other things as a basis for decisions regarding special support and when establishing action programs.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a social worker or has another academic background that the employer deems equivalent. To succeed in this role, you must have very good competence in psychosocial work, and as a person, you should be creative, curious, proactive, and able to collaborate easily with other professionals and stakeholders. Furthermore, you should be comfortable consulting and training your colleagues and sharing your knowledge. You enjoy working with students at the group level and driving projects. Naturally, you find it easy to build relationships, networks, and create processes. We consider it an advantage if you have experience working within or collaborating with social services.
