The reception is organized within the Adult Psychiatry area in Region Värmland.

In addition to the reception in Kristinehamn, there is psychiatric outpatient care in Hagfors, Torsby, Arvika, Säffle, and Karlstad. The psychiatric reception in Kristinehamn is centrally located, with a short commuting distance to both Karlstad and Karlskoga. We operate our unit in close interdisciplinary collaboration and with dedicated specialist doctors. We are a stable and well-functioning reception with low staff turnover across all professional categories and are thus fully staffed.

You will work in a reception with a good and supportive work climate, with clear and established routines. With us, you will work in a team with high competence that prioritizes the patient's best interests. At the reception in Kristinehamn, in addition to psychologists, there are PTP psychologists, social workers, specialist nurses, and registered nurses, specialist doctors, training doctors, medical administrators, and occupational therapists. We conduct our operations in some of Region Värmland's finest premises and invest in developing collaboration within the area of psychiatric outpatient care and with care neighbors.

Your Tasks

We are facing the need to expand our stable and competent group of psychologists from three to four positions and are therefore looking for a colleague with an interest in the broad and varied general psychiatric assignment.

The work involves both assessment and treatment work in close collaboration with other psychologists and interdisciplinary with the rest of the colleagues at the reception. The assignment includes independent clinical treatment work and assessments, suicide risk assessments, preventive measures, group treatments, and neuropsychiatric and personality-related assessments.

As a psychologist, you are expected to work in a structured, flexible, and evidence-based manner, have good knowledge of psychiatry, the mission of psychiatry related to the patient group, working methods, care levels, legislation, and interventions.

We work across three municipalities with receptions in Kristinehamn and Filipstad. The primary work is centered in Kristinehamn, but some travel may occur. You will be offered a good introduction and continuous supervision.

Our workgroup is consistently stable and well-functioning with both high therapeutic and psychiatric competence. We are looking for a colleague with an interest in both therapeutic and assessment work, as well as quality development.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist with an interest in psychiatry. We believe you have several years of experience in clinical work and have method-specific knowledge related to psychological assessment and treatment, as well as confidence in execution. Experience from previous work in psychiatric care is an advantage.

To thrive and succeed in the position, you need to have personal maturity, a secure approach, and a good ability to collaborate, communicate, and cooperate with patients, relatives, colleagues, and care neighbors.
