Support Assistant for LSS Group Home

We are looking for someone who is passionate about LSS operations and has a strong commitment to working with individuals with disabilities.

We are currently seeking two support assistants for the LSS group home, one position is a permanent position and the other is a temporary position for up to 6 months with possible extensions.

Within the LSS group home, our goal is to enable individuals to live like others and participate in community life, and together we strive for an independent, active, and meaningful everyday life. The operations include pedagogical support, delegated health and medical tasks, and documentation of individual development. We also work based on various methods within our operations such as AAC (Alternative Augmentative Communication) and LAB (Low Arousal Approach).

You will have an interesting job where you follow users where they are in life and support them towards participation and self-determination.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role of support assistant, we see that you have:

• Upper secondary education in health and care programs, child and leisure programs, or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form and good computer skills.

It is an advantage if you as a support assistant also have:

• Previous experience working in LSS operations and knowledge of challenging behaviors, low arousal approach, and/or alternative communication.
• Competence in digital support, e.g., using tablets as cognitive support in everyday life and experience working with social documentation and following implementation plans.
• A valid driver's license (B).

As a person, you are structured, proactive, and have good collaboration skills and a pedagogical approach. It is essential that you are attentive to the user's needs in various situations to adapt your response flexibly.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities as a support assistant include:

• Based on the individual's needs for support and service, which includes care, communication, and performing service tasks.
• Planning and implementing activities together with the individual, providing pedagogical and practical support for personal hygiene, meals, leisure activities, and household chores.
• Carrying out delegated health and medical tasks.
• Documenting in the operational system Combine.
• Following routines, being able to establish and follow up on implementation plans.

Conditions

Working hours are scheduled around the clock - day/evening/night. For the permanent position, on-call duty is also included.
