The Geriatric Center is a specialist clinic for patients needing both acute and planned geriatric care and rehabilitation. A comprehensive assessment of the elderly patient's medical, physical, psychological, and social functional capacity during illness is performed by interprofessional teams. Diagnostics, treatment, and rehabilitation are conducted in inpatient and outpatient care with the patient's individual needs in focus.

Ward 4 provides orthopedic geriatric acute and subacute care and rehabilitation. We are now looking for new colleagues for a permanent position in Region Västerbotten - are you the one we are looking for?

All our new colleagues undergo our introductory program together with experienced colleagues for 4 weeks so that you gain good insight, understanding, and foundational security in your role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an assistant nurse in Geriatrics 4, you will have a developing, educational, and varied job in a team with joy at work. Here, assistant nurses have an important and obvious role in the care team, and your work contributes to safe patient care of good quality. To grow in your professional role and provide the best care, we believe it is important to have a pleasant work environment and opportunities for continuous development. In the role of assistant nurse, care work with a rehabilitative approach is fundamental, and you are an important part of the team's work to support patients in becoming more independent and involved in their daily lives. The work is carried out in close collaboration with nurses, but the team also includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and doctors, as well as social workers and dietitians when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a nursing assistant education and a certified course in emergency care. You enjoy working with the elderly and prioritize the patient, have a good demeanor, and adapt your care to the patient's various needs throughout the care process. You are interested in rehabilitation and stimulating the patient to activity and participation in their daily life.

You are proactive, easy to collaborate with, and curious about new challenges. You take responsibility and thrive in an environment with varied tasks and changing intensity. You work together with nurses, doctors, and paramedical staff, but also have a significant part of your workday where you work independently, where collaboration skills, initiative, flexibility, and attention to detail are qualities we value. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

As of July 1, 2023, assistant nurse is a protected professional title. This means you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title assistant nurse in healthcare and social services. You apply for a certificate of protected professional title for assistant nurses from the National Board of Health and Welfare. If you have already received this certificate, we ask that you attach it to your application.
