Job Advertisement: Nurse/Intensive Care Nurse
Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for equitable welfare and for research and innovation to yield results.
The Department of Anesthesia, Surgery, and Intensive Care is located at Norrland University Hospital in Umeå, where intensive care for children and adults, emergency and planned surgical care, anesthesia with accompanying postoperative care, and sterile technical operations are conducted at the regional and county level in close collaboration with other clinics in the county. The department is also responsible for airborne intensive care in the northern region. The mission includes conducting research, development, and education.
IMA – the Intermediate Care Unit offers a varied, exciting, and developing job where care for patients with failing organ function is provided at a level that is difficult to achieve in a regular ward, as organ-supporting treatment may be needed.
The unit has a closer staff presence and access to certain medical technical equipment that is not standard in regular wards. The unit is open 24/7, every day of the year. Patients are received from wards or the emergency department.
Do you want a challenging job that really makes a difference? Welcome to us! Whether you have long experience or not – do not hesitate to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nurse/intensive care nurse with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe.
At IMA, you will meet patients who require advanced nursing and rehabilitation that cannot be provided in a regular ward. Since it is a completely new department, many new working methods may need to change over time. Patients can come from all departments of the hospital, and as a nurse with us, you will have a varied everyday life and breadth in your competence.
There will be a coordinating nurse available 7 days a week. As we care for patients of all categories, except for thoracic surgery patients and children, our knowledge develops into a unique and broad knowledge base. You will work closely with nursing assistants, physiotherapists, social workers, and doctors who together form a team around the patient and their relatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse or intensive care nurse.
Further education as an intensive care nurse and experience from working in an intensive care unit is an advantage. You have the ability to prioritize, are flexible and responsible. You have teamwork skills and see the benefits of collaboration while also possessing the ability to work independently. You also actively contribute to a good working environment. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. Experience in emergency care is an advantage.
