The main goal and task of the Surgical Center Umeå is to provide highly specialized and high-quality care and research for patients within the northern healthcare region. The clinic is divided into sections for urology, breast, endocrine, vascular, colorectal, and upper gastrointestinal surgery, which are conducted in both outpatient and inpatient care.

We are now looking for a pharmacist for a summer position to join our wonderful team at the Vascular and Gastrointestinal Surgery Department. With us, patients with upper gastrointestinal diseases, colorectal diseases, and vascular diseases are cared for. We work with pre- and postoperative care, and many of our patients are admitted via the emergency department. Our care is characterized by a holistic approach where many different professional categories are engaged and collaborate for the best results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Good care requires that medications are available in the right place, at the right time, with the right quality, in the right dose, and in the right formulation. In addition, rational inventory management and good pharmaceutical economics are needed.

In the role of department pharmacist, you will be involved in the daily work with medications on the ward. The tasks are varied and include ordering medications, preparing both oral and parenteral medications, preparing medication carts, and medications for patients ready for discharge. You will also be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the medication rooms.

In addition to this, you will serve as an important support for the staff in matters related to medications and medication management. You will be an important part of the department's team and contribute to ensuring that medication treatments can be carried out in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed pharmacist with extemporaneous authorization or a licensed pharmacist. For the position, very good language skills in Swedish are required, corresponding to at least level C2 according to the Council of Europe's level scale. A few years of professional experience from similar work is meritorious but not a requirement. It is also desirable if you have completed a course in clinical pharmacy or equivalent education in clinical pharmacy.

To thrive in the role, you need to be confident in your professional role and enjoy working both independently and in a team. You are flexible, responsive, and have a good ability to prioritize your tasks according to the needs of the care unit. The work also requires a high degree of personal responsibility.
