Job Advertisement: Nurse at the Surgical Clinic

The Surgical Clinic is part of the Center for Surgical Operations, which includes surgery, orthopedics, and Anesthesia/Operation/ICU in Skellefteå. At the surgical department, we conduct emergency and elective general surgery, including urology. Our clinic has a surgical outpatient clinic with endoscopy services, 2 inpatient wards, and 1 chemotherapy unit.

Surgical Ward 8 is a department for planned surgery and urology with round-the-clock care from Monday to Friday, and we have 6 patient beds. We also accept emergency cases. The ward is closed during Christmas/New Year and in the summer. This means that you will work your weekends and during the closure at Surgical Ward 2. At Surgical Ward 2, we have 20 patient beds for planned surgery and emergency services, and it is open year-round. We also care for palliative patients and have a good and close collaboration with palliative medicine. The clinic also employs a dietitian, social worker, and rehabilitation staff.

We offer various further education, shorter courses, as well as an introductory year for new nurses and mentorship for newly graduated nurses. You will receive an onboarding process tailored to you. We work in a scheduling model called desired schedule with rotating shifts, day/evening/night, and we work 2 out of 5 weekends. Continuous night work may be possible if there is interest. Within operations with round-the-clock care, a salary supplement is provided.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse with us, you contribute with engagement and knowledge that makes people feel secure.

Your work as a nurse takes place within a broad surgical area with specialized surgery and emergency care. You are responsible for patient care, contributing to high patient safety and care development. Identifying risks, assessing, addressing, and evaluating the patient's care needs is an important part of your work.

You are important for our patients but also for the ward and our future. Together with colleagues, you contribute to creating good collaboration and a pleasant atmosphere in the ward and within our clinic.

You will work at Surgical Ward 8, but during your weekends and closures, you will work at Surgical Ward 2.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are now looking for you who are a licensed nurse, preferably with experience in emergency care. We want you to have a good approach and see collaboration as an important part of care. You are a responsible person who creates security and trust. You want to be part of building and developing both our operations and yourself.
