Company Commander (OF2-3 or SO7-8) for the Training Company at the Defense Language School

The Defense Intelligence and Security Center (FMUndSäkC) is a center for development and training within the Defense Forces' intelligence and security services. The center is joint for the armed forces and was established in 1998 when the Air Force and Army intelligence schools and the Defense Language School were merged in Uppsala garrison. FMUndSäkC consists of a Staff Unit, Functional Development Unit, Training Unit, and the Language School.

We are now looking for a Company Commander (OF2-3 or SO7-8) for the Training Company at the Defense Language School, located in Uppsala.

We are looking for someone who is flexible, solution-oriented, and wants to be involved in training future intelligence units with a focus on language skills and interrogation services. Unit Overview

The Defense Language School meets the Armed Forces' needs for language skills and HUMINT personnel through military basic training, program-based specialist officer training, and vocational and position training in language, cultural understanding, and HUMINT.

The Training Company is responsible for training conscript interrogators and intelligence and security assistants for the entire war organization’s needs. In addition, specialist officer training (SOU) for military interpreters and special officer training (SOFU) for FMUndSäkC needs are conducted at the company.

Main Responsibilities

As the company commander at the Training Company, you are responsible for planning and executing training and exercises for the company's conscripts, cadets, students, and officers. You have overall responsibility for personnel, operations, and finances for the activities at the company.

You lead your operations in close collaboration with other companies and departments at the Defense Language School and within the unit.

The Defense Language School consists of a mix of different personnel categories, which requires you as a company commander to be attentive to the needs of the various personnel categories. The ability to lead through mission tactics and inspire leaders and colleagues around you is a prerequisite for being an effective leader in the unit.

Qualifications

  • Officer's degree, OF2-3 or SO7-8
  • Previous experience working in the Armed Forces
  • Driver's license B (manual)

Desirable

  • Leadership experience with documented good leadership and management skills
  • Practical experience in intelligence and security services at units, schools, or centers
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
