Job Advertisement: F 16 is Looking for New Colleagues
F 16 is responsible for Uppsala garrison and the operation of Uppsala airport. The squadron is also responsible for monitoring Swedish airspace around the clock, all year round, and leads the Air Force's combat aircraft in the air. You will be part of a military organization undergoing significant change and development due to the geopolitical situation and Sweden's NATO membership. About the Unit
1621. The Air Base Company is tasked with maintaining airport operations. The company belongs to the 162nd Air Base Battalion. 6211. The SKYFFARB platoon belongs to 1621. The Air Base Company and performs the following tasks: Field maintenance service, Airport and base rescue service, training of conscripts, CBRN service, fieldwork service (explosive ordnance disposal).
We are looking for new colleagues for 6211. Protection Airfield Work Platoon (SKYFFARB) for several positions. The most important thing is that you are a trained specialist officer and have a strong motivation to develop yourself and the unit you serve in. In the position of SKYFFARB officer, regardless of specialization, the daily routine varies with courses, troop training, operational service, development, missions, and exercises. The work provides excellent opportunities for both basic and further training within the position.
The following vacancies are available in the platoon:
Rescue Officer
As a rescue officer, one of your roles is incident commander, where you lead the rescue team during daily operations at the airport. In the event of an alarm, you lead the rescue operation at the airport in cooperation with other emergency services. You are also involved in planning and conducting periodic training within the framework of the rescue service. Together with the rescue chief, you will jointly develop the capability for airport and base rescue within the combat unit. The position also involves training new firefighters, both the platoon's employees and conscript rescue soldiers.
Field Maintenance Officer
As a field maintenance officer, one of the main tasks is to act as a field maintenance leader, where you lead one or more field maintenance groups. You are responsible for the operational management of all ground areas at the airport and ensure that all military air units can take off and land safely regardless of weather or damage to the airport. What primarily characterizes a field maintenance leader is that they lead and coordinate snow removal in winter and fieldwork at the airport during summer. Vehicle service is a significant part of the position as a field maintenance officer by training in several different heavy special vehicles and machines. The position also involves training new field maintainers, both the platoon's employees and conscript field maintenance soldiers.
CBRN Officer
The position of CBRN officer involves conducting training and leading CBRN service. Everything from group level at the platoon to battalion level. In the role of CBRN officer, there is also the opportunity to be the unit's (F 16) functional representative regarding CBRN. The position can advantageously be combined with rescue officer duties, and in the role of CBRN officer, it includes delving deeper into the service.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Trained specialist officer at one of the FM schools (at least SO6)
- Driving license B
- Approved FM FysS - level 2

We are looking for someone who is focused, persistent, and good at collaborating with others. You should be driven and willing to participate in the development of the platoon and the combat unit. You are positive and see opportunities instead of problems. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability for the position.

Employment type: Permanent. The Armed Forces may apply a six-month probationary period.
Employment rate: Full-time
Work location: Uppsala. F 16 also has operations in other locations, which may involve occasional business trips.
Working hours: Mainly daytime. Evening and weekend duties may occur during training activities. Standby duty may occur during operational activities.

Uppland Air Wing, F 16, is headquartered at Uppsala garrison. The unit is part of the Swedish Air Force and is responsible for the operation and monitoring of Uppsala airport as well as training conscripts in several different positions in the Air Force. The unit also leads the 161st Combat Control and Air Surveillance Battalion, which commands combat aircraft in the air and manages the continuous monitoring of Swedish airspace. The unit operates from several different locations in the country and constitutes an important part of the growth period that the Air Force is facing.
