Head of HUMINT Department at the Defense Language School

The Swedish Armed Forces Intelligence and Security Centre (FMUndSäkC) is now seeking a Head of the HUMINT Department at the Defense Language School, OF2-3/SO7-8, based in Uppsala.

The Swedish Armed Forces Intelligence and Security Centre, FMUndSäkC, is a center for development and education within the Armed Forces' intelligence and security services. The center is joint across the Armed Forces and was established in 1998 when the Air Force's and Army's intelligence schools and the Defense Language School were merged at the Uppsala garrison. FMUndSäkC consists of a Staff Unit, Development Unit, Education Unit, and Language School.

Unit Seeking

The HUMINT Department at the Defense Language School meets the Armed Forces' need for HUMINT personnel through training in human-based intelligence collection (HUMINT) and support for program-based basic training, specialist officer training, and professional and position training. The HUMINT Department manages and develops HUMINT training within the Armed Forces. The current position involves leading the HUMINT Department at the Defense Language School and being part of the Language School's management team.

Main Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, evaluate, and develop the operations of the department
• Personnel planning and evaluation of own staff
• Recruit staff for the unit
• Exercise financial responsibility through budgeting and follow-up
• Conduct qualified investigations
• International cooperation within the area of responsibility
• Report the department's activities to higher management

Qualifications

• You have completed the Higher Officer Program (e.g., HOP1 or HOP12) or are a reserve officer trained and hold at least OF-3 after completing TSK.
• Documented good leadership and management skills
• Experience in education
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
• Driver's license (manual)

You are driven and have a good ability to work independently and goal-oriented, and you have high integrity and are security-conscious. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Meritorious

It is meritorious if you have practical and several years of experience in a leadership position or equivalent. Experience from various types of combat units and a good understanding of battalion and brigade structure or equivalent, as well as knowledge and understanding of the Armed Forces' central leadership, is also meritorious. Desired is experience or education in intelligence services. Practical experience in intelligence or security service at units, schools, or centers, as well as international service, is also considered meritorious. Completed management training in the areas of personnel, operations management, and finance is also meritorious.
