About the Unit

The Education Unit is a central part of the Air Combat School (LSS) and works closely with the Headquarters, the Air Staff, defense schools, and air wings. Our task is to create conditions for the future personnel and competence supply of the Air Force by leading, coordinating, quality assuring, and developing the educational activities. We are part of the active defense effort for Sweden.

Main Responsibilities

In the role of development officer, you can independently and in a group work on the development and creation of education to support the Air Force's operations and growth. Your main tasks include educational development in new areas. This requires an understanding of current and future educational systems and educational pedagogy within the Air Force.

As a development officer, you are responsible for projects, lead and coordinate development matters, conduct meetings and training, produce reports for and analyze today's and tomorrow's educational systems, and contribute to the development of didactics and pedagogy within the Air Force.

The position requires that you can perform tasks independently and have a good ability to collaborate in a group, both remotely and physically. You have a strong desire to think innovatively and creatively, as well as a good ability to drive projects towards higher instances.

Qualifications

• Professional officer
• Knowledge of the educational system in the Armed Forces
• Good skill in communicating in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
• Driver's license (B)

Personal Qualities

You are structured and organized with good collaborative skills. Independence and initiative-taking are natural traits for you. You are service-oriented and have the ability to establish new contacts within and outside the organization. Interest and experience in educational activities are an advantage. We are looking for unpretentious individuals ready to handle various tasks in a growing organization. You also have good organizational and administrative skills.

Meritorious

• Experience in project work, preferably in leadership roles
• Experience in development activities, especially educational development
• Previous teaching and mentoring experience, instructor experience
• Shooting leader
• Experience in troop training
• Knowledge of online learning, including tools and pedagogy

The Air Combat School is the Air Force's joint competence center for development and education. The Air Combat School has four Air Force joint schools and educates, among other things, future pilots within the Armed Forces. The Air Combat School operates in seven locations spread across the country and has its headquarters in Uppsala.
