About the Coordination Section in the Air Staff

The primary and largest task of the Air Staff is to support the Air Force Chief's leadership of the Air Force, including all wings and schools at all levels of the conflict scale. The Air Staff develops, plans, executes, and evaluates orders and directives issued by the Air Force Chief.

The Coordination Detail is part of the Coordination Section. The section is responsible for several functional areas such as mobilization preparations, case management, quality, publication services, and legal support for both the Air Force and the Air Staff's operations.

About the Position

The Armed Forces is in a phase of expansion and on a significant growth journey. As a staff assistant in the Coordination Detail, you will primarily work with administrative support to the section's leaders and assist the Air Staff during visits, events, and ceremonies.

Training and exercises may involve limited periods of irregular and uncomfortable working hours, including occasional weekend duties. Occasional travel to other locations within Sweden may occur.

Main Responsibilities

  • Administrative support to the head of the Coordination Section
  • Support for the section's long-term planning, coordination, and implementation of activities
  • Assist with visits and events at the Air Staff
  • Support ceremonial activities at the Air Staff

The Armed Forces is growing, and the tasks may change over time.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Completed Swedish military service, GMU, or equivalent military training with satisfactory results.
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Good computer skills, particularly with the Office suite, but also the ability to learn new systems.
  • Driver's license B

Personal Attributes

We are looking for someone who is responsible, structured, and meticulous. As a staff assistant, you need to be results-oriented and have the ability to adapt to changing conditions. You should be quick to learn new working methods and techniques, as well as have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing. We are looking for someone who can work both in a team and independently. It is important that you are a good representative of the Armed Forces and support its values. Personal suitability will be given great importance.

Meritorious

  • Military service (or equivalent) as a staff assistant.
  • Experience working in an administrative function/position.
  • Experience with similar tasks within the Armed Forces or another Swedish authority.
  • Experience working with the VIDAR and SWECCIS systems.

Employment type: Fixed-term up to eight years (GSS/K). The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the authority.

The Air Staff develops, plans, executes, and evaluates orders and directives issued by the Air Force Chief. The Air Staff consists of approximately 350 employees. The Air Force organizes and trains air, base, and command units and is tasked with monitoring and protecting Sweden's airspace. This is a mission that continues around the clock, year-round, to ensure Sweden's integrity. Approximately 5,100 employees, both civilian and military, work within the Air Force.
