About the Unit
The Air Force's Combat Control and Air Surveillance Battalion, Strilbataljon, is tasked with air surveillance of Swedish airspace and leading combat aircraft. The battalion operates around the clock, year-round from facilities across the country. The Air Defense Company is the Air Force's largest security unit, tasked with protecting the facilities of the Strilbataljon.
Main Responsibilities
1614 Stril Defense Company's company staff is looking for someone with experience and competence in technical services. The position as a technical assistant at 1614 Stril Defense Company means that you primarily work together with the technical manager, but also with the quartermaster and logistics assistant, who together form part of the company's logistics function. The position involves a wide variety of tasks and varies between working closely with the logistics function's positions and also with the platoons to maintain and uphold the operational status of the company's systems and materials. Other tasks include supporting training, follow-up, and quality assurance. Your role is to be a support within the technical track, for the technical manager and for others in the company.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- B driver's license (manual)
- Completed military service or GMU.
- Two- or three-year high school with a technical focus or other education/competence acquired through work experience that the employer assesses as equivalent.
- Experience working with similar tasks
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is creative, adaptable, and can work both independently and in a team. You are meticulous and can work under pressure. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
MERITORIOUS
- Adr basic + class 1 and tank
- Driving license category C, CE
- Military driving license/ forklift license
- Electrical knowledge
- Experience/competence in the defense's data systems such as PRIO, LIFT.
Other
Employment form: GSS/K, the position is a fixed-term employment up to 12 years. The Armed Forces may apply a six-month probationary period.
Employment rate: Full-time.
Work location: Uppsala. F 16 also has operations in other locations, which may involve occasional business trips.
Working hours: Mainly daytime. Evening and weekend work may occur during training activities.
Start date: By agreement.
Salary: We apply individual salary setting.

Uppland Air Wing, F 16, is headquartered at Uppsala garrison. The unit is part of the Swedish Air Force and is responsible for the operation and surveillance of Uppsala Airport as well as training conscripts in various positions within the Air Force. The unit also leads the 161st Combat Control and Air Surveillance Battalion, which controls combat aircraft in the air and manages the constant surveillance of Swedish airspace. The unit operates from several locations across the country and is an important part of the growth period that the Air Force is facing.
