The Swedish Armed Forces are in an expansion phase and on a significant growth journey. Here you have the opportunity to work in a dedicated and close-knit team where you can develop while contributing to the organization's development journey. Does this sound like something for you? Read on!

Training Unit

The Training Unit meets the needs of the Armed Forces for intelligence and security personnel through method and analysis training. At the Intelligence Department, we work in a team of several teachers, lead teachers, course management, and department management. We work closely together, and everyone has the opportunity to influence both our tasks within the intelligence service and, perhaps most importantly, our work environment.

Main Responsibilities

Depending on your experience, it may take varying lengths of time before you start your main position as a teacher in intelligence service. If you have low experience, you will receive supplementary training or work as an assistant for a while until you are comfortable and sufficiently experienced to be a teacher yourself. If you have experience and knowledge, you will quickly take on the role of teacher. All our training is conducted in teams consisting of a lead teacher and several teachers.

During your time as a teacher, you will have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in the field. You will have the chance to participate in exercises either as a participant or in follow-up. When the time is right and you feel that you want to specialize in a specific area, this will be encouraged. Currently, there is a need for more specialists in intelligence methods, adversary knowledge, and pattern link analysis.

In the long run, you will be able to progress from teacher to lead teacher to project manager. Depending on your skills, there may also be opportunities to transition to more leadership positions over time.

As a teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, preparing, and conducting training
  • Evaluating and developing teaching materials and course plans within the intelligence service
  • Participating in and/or driving various development projects as needed
  • Following up on parts of the Armed Forces within the area of intelligence service

Qualifications

  • You have completed specialist or tactical officer training
  • You have a basic intelligence training
  • You have experience serving in intelligence positions
  • You have good pedagogical skills
  • You have good verbal skills in Swedish and English
  • You meet the Armed Forces' physical performance requirements for international service

Personal Attributes

We are looking for someone who is proactive, responsible, and has good social skills. A trustworthy working method is very important as you will have your own responsibility for solving assigned tasks. There will also be a requirement for good pedagogical ability since the position largely involves creating learning situations for different types of student groups. A good ability to collaborate with others and to work independently on complex tasks is a given.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Desirable Qualifications

  • International experience in intelligence positions
  • Experience working in staff
  • Training in IT systems and various applications such as ArcGIS, i2, etc.
  • Specialized knowledge in one or more of the Armed Forces' common methods in intelligence service (processing, analysis, intelligence management, adversary knowledge)
  • A desire to deepen knowledge in intelligence methods, adversary knowledge, or pattern link analysis
