We are looking for a Junior Strategic Buyer for an assignment in Gothenburg. The role is suitable for you who have a few years of experience in strategic purchasing and sourcing and who want to work closely with the business in an international and business-driven environment. The assignment focuses on strategic purchasing work within the assigned category or area of responsibility and may also, at a more senior level, include initiatives related to digitalization and sustainability.

In this role, you will be responsible for strategic purchasing work by driving sourcing and cost reduction initiatives as well as developing and implementing category strategies within your area of responsibility. You will establish and further develop structures for supplier relationship management and continuous improvement programs, negotiate contracts, and coordinate supplier integration plans together with internal stakeholders. The role also includes analysis of market dynamics affecting the availability and pricing of materials and services, as well as close collaboration with internal customers to identify purchasing needs, market trends, and expected service levels.

You will deliver implemented sourcing and purchasing strategies that contribute to cost efficiency and stable delivery, well-negotiated contracts, and functioning supplier collaborations. You will contribute market analyses and decision support and ensure that the purchasing work is well anchored with internal stakeholders.

• 2–5 years of experience in strategic purchasing, sourcing, or a similar role

• Experience working with category strategies and supplier management

• Good negotiation skills and experience with contract work

• Ability to work independently on tasks that may be demanding but are generally not complex

• Very good communication skills in English, both spoken and written

• Clearly stated work experience (number of years) in your CV

• Experience working in larger industrial corporations

• Previous experience from Volvo (clearly state in CV, if applicable)

• Experience with digitalization or sustainability initiatives within purchasing

• Good understanding of market and supplier dynamics

You are business-minded, analytical, and structured in your approach. You enjoy working independently but also like to collaborate with others and can influence through factual arguments and clear communication. You are curious, improvement-driven, and have a professional attitude in dialogue with both internal and external parties.
