We are looking for a Senior Strategic Buyer for an assignment in Gothenburg. The role is aimed at those with extensive experience in strategic purchasing and sourcing who want to take on greater responsibility in a business-driven and international environment. The assignment involves a senior mandate with the opportunity to drive both strategic and transformative initiatives within purchasing, for example related to digitalization and sustainability.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving strategic purchasing efforts by initiating and implementing sourcing and cost reduction initiatives, as well as developing and implementing category strategies within your area of responsibility. You will establish and further develop structures for supplier relationship management and continuous improvement programs, negotiate contracts, and coordinate supplier integration plans together with internal stakeholders. The role also includes analyzing market dynamics that affect the availability and pricing of materials and services, as well as working closely with internal customers to identify purchasing needs, market trends, and desired service levels. At a senior level, you may also drive larger change and development initiatives within the purchasing organization.

You will deliver well-founded and implemented purchasing and sourcing strategies, measurable cost savings, and stable supplier relationships. You will contribute to improved processes and working methods within purchasing and act as a strategic support to the business and a coaching resource for more junior colleagues.

• At least 5 years of experience in strategic purchasing, sourcing, or a similar role

• Documented experience in driving category strategies and strategic purchasing initiatives

• Strong negotiation skills and experience in complex contract negotiations

• Ability to work independently with complex issues and limited supervision

• Experience in leading or coordinating projects and processes

• Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written

• Clearly stated work experience (number of years) in your CV

• Experience in coaching or quality assuring work from more junior buyers

• Experience in change management, such as in digitalization or sustainability

• Experience from larger industrial corporations

• Previous experience from Volvo (clearly state at the top of your CV, if applicable)

You have a structured approach to work, take natural responsibility, and enjoy influencing both through decisions and by supporting others. You communicate clearly and build trusting relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
