The Purchasing and Procurement Unit at the municipal office has an important mission and high ambitions.

About the role and your tasks
We are now seeking a Procurement Officer within the Food and Meals category who, in collaboration with category leaders and others in the category team, will work to ensure that Lund Municipality continues to have a clear focus on sustainability and business acumen within the entire category.
The Food and Meals category includes a varied assignment with responsibility for areas such as catering, kitchen equipment, and food products. You take initiative and are responsible for your tasks, driving your work forward in a structured manner. You are an active and collaborative partner in the category team throughout the procurement process and contribute to ensuring business acumen at all levels. You thrive in an orderly environment, value collaboration, and have a drive to develop work within the category.
Below are examples of tasks included:
- conduct benchmarking and market analysis and, together with category leaders, participate in the work of developing and following up goals, strategies, and plans for the category. In individual procurements, you are responsible for driving the work forward and setting relevant goals
- work with category-driven purchasing together with colleagues
- collaborate and support the municipality's ordering organization within the Food and Meals category
- participate in the formulation of purchasing strategies in collaboration with internal buyers
- provide support to the organization on issues related to the application of contracts during the contract period and participate in the work of supplier assessment
- implement contracts and be responsible for ongoing contract management, including monitoring the application of contracts
- manage deviations and take action in dialogue with suppliers, including handling penalties and incorrect billing, in collaboration with colleagues
- assess the outcome of completed procurements. What was the result? Impact assessment in terms of reduced costs, higher quantity, more value for money, etc.
An important part of the assignment is our development and improvement work, and we want you to actively participate in improvements throughout the procurement process, including our internal governing documents. We learn from each other, and you are expected to share your experiences with your colleagues and the departments. Training in the entire procurement process and practical contract application will therefore also be part of the assignment for the relevant category.
We are looking for you
You have a degree in economics, purchasing, or food and nutrition, or other relevant education and experience for the role. Knowledge and a strong interest in environmental and sustainability issues related to food products are a given. We are looking for someone with at least four years of experience in procurement within the food sector and experience in driving procurements in project form. Experience in catering and kitchen equipment is an advantage. Furthermore, it is advantageous if you have conducted spend and supplier market analyses and strategic work with related activities.
You have good knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, as well as a generally good proficiency in systems. You are familiar with working with QlikSense, Raindance, Hantera/Tendmill, and TendSign or similar systems, as well as experience in e-commerce.
It is advantageous if you have worked with goal-oriented working methods, and we expect you to deliver results. We are looking for someone who focuses on business and sustainability and has a strong interest in category-driven working methods.
Furthermore, we want you to have:
- Experience in procuring larger framework agreements and extensive assortments/product baskets.
- Experience in working with sustainability in procurements.
- Experience from working in a politically governed organization or a larger organization with many actors.
- You should be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

About the workplace
The Purchasing and Procurement Unit at Lund Municipality belongs to the finance department. The unit consists of over 28 procurement officers, and to enable close leadership, the procurement officers are divided into two groups led by two group managers. Together with development strategists, procurement lawyers, contract lawyers, purchasing analysts, contract controllers, e-commerce specialists, system administrators, and procurement administrators, we create professional collaboration both within the unit and with other actors. The unit is led by the head of purchasing and procurement.
About 400 employees work in strategic functions at the municipal office. Together, we ensure that the municipality is an efficient and modern organization. We are currently on an exciting development journey with the goal of functioning as a driving force in the development of the entire organization.
