Group Leader for Document Examination
Are you ready for a bigger challenge? The Swedish Police Authority is Sweden's largest authority with approximately 40,000 employees across the country. With us, you have the opportunity to contribute to the Police's mission – to increase safety and reduce crime in society.
The National Forensic Centre (NFC) is a department within the Swedish Police Authority. In close collaboration with the investigative operations, NFC leads, develops, and performs forensic work for successful crime fighting. The department operates in the areas of information technology, biological traces, chemistry and technology, as well as drug analysis. We have twelve operational sites, with our largest lab and departmental office located in Linköping.
Within the section for document analysis, we have a consolidated competence in the subject areas of document examination, handwriting comparisons, and case support. The section is tasked with conducting forensic examinations and analyses within operational areas, continuously developing methods, further developing the forensic process, providing education, and being an expert support within the justice system. We are over 30 employees distributed across three groups, and our operations are based in Linköping.
NFC is now seeking a group leader for the Document Examination group. You do not need to be an expert in the group's subject areas, but knowledge in these areas is meritorious. Document examination is a subject area that covers forensic issues regarding virtually all types of documents, from authenticity examinations of security documents such as banknotes or travel documents to links to production equipment.
The Document Examination group has the forensic responsibility within the Swedish Police Authority for personal document examinations. Collaboration with border police is essential to the operation. In addition to case work, the operation, within the forensic responsibility area and in the expert support function, includes extensive work with training, both nationally and internationally. This is partly to strengthen border controls within and outside Sweden and to meet the requirements set by the EU for Sweden.

As the group leader for document examinations, you report to the section head and are part of the management team, where you collectively are responsible for ensuring that assignments are carried out and for driving the authority's change and development work. You have a particular responsibility for the section's/unit's/group's operations within the area of document examinations and its results. As a group leader, you represent the entire Swedish Police Authority both internally and externally and work to strengthen trust in police operations.
Being a manager and leader within the Swedish Police Authority means creating safety and building trust by exercising sincere, courageous, and attentive leadership with trust in others' competence and ability. As a manager, you drive development by inspiring and encouraging reflection and feedback in a way that is based on following the law and treating people equally. You create conditions and work for good relationships that contribute to us acting together based on what is best for citizens and the mission as a whole.
