ABOUT THE POSITION

Trinseo Sweden AB is part of the global Trinseo group and has been producing latex for the paper industry in the Nordic region since 1974. The facility in Norrköping is a chemical process industry classified according to SEVESO, with the highest level of supervision. The company is certified according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISCC Plus and is characterized by a strong commitment to safety, health, and the environment.

As an HSE Engineer (Health, Environment & Safety) at Trinseo, you will have a central and operational role in the daily work with health, environment, and safety. You will work very closely with production and operations staff and be a visible resource on-site rather than behind a desk. The role involves significant responsibility where you drive preventive occupational safety work, identify risks, and ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with applicable legislation, permits, and internal requirements.

You will also be the company's main contact person with supervisory authorities such as the County Administrative Board and the Rescue Service, and you will be responsible for managing inspections, reporting, and follow-up. An important part of the role is also to monitor changes in laws, regulations, and permits and implement these in practice while ensuring that relevant requirements are communicated to the organization. You will lead and participate in investigations of accidents, incidents, and risk observations and contribute your expertise in projects, safety committees, and internal training initiatives within the HSE area.

In the long term, there is also the opportunity to join the company's emergency response team and take an active role in larger incidents.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Examples of Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk assessments and safety analyses.
  • Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures.
  • Conduct internal training and workshops within HSE.
  • Follow up and report incidents and suggest measures.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations in the HSE area.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO

  • Has a university degree in environmental science, HSE, or similar.
  • Has good knowledge of environmental and occupational health legislation.
  • Preferably has experience from safety-classified operations or the chemical industry.
  • Has experience or interest in contacts with authorities, an extra plus if it is with the County Administrative Board.
  • Communicates fluently in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Is proactive, structured, and confident in taking responsibility.
  • Has a valid driver's license (B).

It is advantageous if you have

  • Advanced knowledge in environmental management (e.g., ISO 14001).
  • Experience in implementing safety systems.
  • Training in systematic occupational health work (SAM).
