Swedish Prison and Probation Service is Growing – We Are Hiring
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transport.
The Norrköping area includes the Skenäs prison, located in Vikbolandet, and the remand facility situated in central Norrköping. As a correctional officer, you will be placed either at the prison or the remand facility, depending on the needs.
The Skenäs prison will be upgraded from security class 3 to security class 2 in 2026, which means a significant focus on general security work. We also have a care department that includes security, health, and medical work. The prison is located about 30 kilometers outside of Norrköping and is not connected to public transport, which means a driver's license and access to a car are required.
