Habilitation is specialized health care for children and adolescents with autism, intellectual disabilities, movement disabilities, or acquired brain injuries. We provide health-promoting and therapeutic interventions based on each individual's unique needs and circumstances, and we have specialist knowledge of how disabilities can affect daily life, health, and development.

Description

We are looking for reinforcement for our clinic in Lidköping as one of our nurses is furthering their education to become a pediatric nurse.

We are primarily looking for someone for 6 months, but there may be an opportunity for extension as the education lasts for several years.

We are looking for someone interested in following children and adolescents up to 18 years old with diagnoses such as autism, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, muscle diseases, hereditary metabolic diseases, spina bifida, and genetic syndromes, etc. Our specialty is understanding the symptoms these diagnoses can cause and preventing and treating them. We follow our patients over time to see how interventions make a difference in the daily lives of both the patient and their family. Common symptoms can sometimes take unusual forms, and Habilitation can help identify these. The operation is outpatient-based and scheduled during the day without on-call duties. Habilitation works closely with, among others, BUM, BUP, Närhälsan, BVC, and school health services.

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who is curious about our operations and wants to work together with a great team. The position is daytime-based at Habilitation for children and adolescents in Lidköping.

You will work transprofessionally with doctors, dietitians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, psychologists, speech therapists, and special educators.

Your tasks/role will be to closely collaborate with children/adolescents, parents, and other professionals to make assessments and analyses, as well as plan and implement interventions that are then evaluated. The areas the nurse at habilitation primarily works within are nutrition, sleep, epilepsy, and elimination, as well as medication follow-up. You will have your own clinic and also co-scheduled visits with other professionals. Interventions for children/adolescents can be provided individually or in groups during defined periods.

You will be a link for medical questions within habilitation and have a collaborative role with care neighbors. You will be offered an introduction period and collegial supervision.

Qualifications

You should be a licensed nurse with further education preferably in pediatric care or have experience with our target groups. Clinical experience from pediatric medicine and/or pediatric neurology is meritorious. You have the ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
