About Us

At Närhälsan Frölunda Health Center, you will be part of a wonderful team working for the health of the residents through advice, treatment, and health-promoting work.

The health center is located in a modern shopping center at Frölunda Torg in western Gothenburg. Our approximately 12,000 registered patients reflect the demographics of the district with a palette of different cultures, socioeconomics, and ages. Today, we are about 45 employees from various professions. We offer you a stimulating and meaningful job with competent colleagues, clear leadership, and development opportunities.

In addition to consultations with specialist doctors in general medicine and district nurses, we have diabetes, asthma/COPD, and blood pressure clinics. We also have a home visit unit and a psychosocial team. We are responsible for home healthcare, LSS/BSS, and special accommodations in the area. We also have a child healthcare center that is part of Gothenburg's oldest family center and we are connected to PTC, Närhälsan's center for clinical trials of medications.

About the Job

Your tasks at the health center cover a broad field and include the general medical area where you meet patients of all ages and situations. You work health-promoting, advisory, and treating in first-line care, both via phone, home visits, digital care meetings, and at the clinic.

The work involves both acute and planned activities. You will work largely independently with your own clinic for asthma/COPD patients, where you triage, treat, and follow up patients. Close collaboration takes place with your colleagues in the unit and cross-professionally in the team, but also together with other actors such as home healthcare and other specialist care. Together with the health center management, you are responsible for developing and driving the operations forward. Educating future colleagues is an important and rewarding part of our mission, so mentoring students is also part of your role at the health center.

About You

You are a licensed nurse, preferably with specialist training as a district nurse. You also have additional training in asthma/COPD of at least 15 higher education credits. Previous experience as an asthma/COPD nurse and/or in primary care is an advantage, but we also welcome you as a recent graduate.

We are looking for someone who takes initiative in their work and is confident in making their own decisions. You are meticulous, have good problem-solving skills, and can effectively prioritize among your tasks.

In your work, you meet many patients, so it is important that you are accommodating, attentive, and have a desire to help others. We also believe that you enjoy teamwork and have a natural ability to collaborate with colleagues and other contacts in your work. You can express yourself well in both speech and writing, and you are an engaged and good listener in both digital meetings and visits to the clinic. We would also like you to have an interest in digitalization and business development.

Travel in the service occurs; a B driver's license is required.

About the Recruitment Process

The selection takes place in two steps. The first selection is made by recruiters in the HR department who call relevant candidates for a phone interview. Then the recruiting manager makes a second selection of the applicants and invites them for an interview at the health center.

We use competency-based interviews, which means that the answers to the questions should be based on actual situations. It is important that you describe as concrete situations as possible and try to avoid generalizing answers – this is so we can understand the situation, why you acted as you did, and what the outcome was.
