The Health and Medical Care department in Hallstahammar municipality is part of the Elderly Administration and consists of Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Nursing Assistants. We staff the municipality's three nursing homes, home care, and support for people with disabilities. We have nearly 50 employees in total.
With us, you will have care responsibility for approximately 20-30 patients, and you have great freedom to plan your days based on the existing frameworks. The work is independent, but you will have close collaboration with your nursing colleagues and other professionals as we work a lot in teams. The job includes evening and weekend shifts; currently, we work every 6th weekend and about 3 evenings in 6 weeks.
We are looking for a new colleague for the nursing home as one of our employees will be on parental leave.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform assessments, take action, and follow up according to the care process.
- Apply a person-centered approach in your daily work to meet each patient's individual needs.
- Ensure good quality in care by working in a structured and preventive manner.
- Use the systems available to assist you, such as Senior Alert, the BPSD registry, and medication reviews that you initiate and carry out in consultation with the responsible physician.
- Plan and prioritize your workdays independently to effectively manage your tasks.
- Guide and support care staff in their work with patients, including providing instructions and training.
- Take on leadership responsibility during evenings and weekends, which means that you will lead the care staff within our areas of operation in certain situations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- You are a licensed Nurse. Experience in municipal health and medical care is an advantage.
- You are a confident person and secure in your professional role.
- You have a good attitude within the group and towards other professionals.
- You have a good ability to plan and prioritize your work in a structured way.
- You have a B driver's license for manual transmission.

Hallstahammar municipality is part of the Finnish administrative area, and we welcome applicants with knowledge of Finnish in both spoken and written form.
