Caregiver for Forensic Psychiatry

Job Responsibilities

As a caregiver with us on ward 5, you will work with patient-centered care and other common tasks on the ward. You will also actively participate in the ongoing work of the ward's routines. You will observe and document activities performed with the patient and make bookings in digital systems. We always work with a focus on good safety and work environment.

The work is team-based with the patient in focus. A care team consists of nurses, caregivers, doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, family therapists, addiction therapists, and physiotherapists. A professional approach and a humanistic value base are the cornerstones of the care process that is based on each patient's individual conditions.

The roles we are now seeking are primarily placed within security class 3.

Security Class 3 – Lowest Security

• Patients in class 3 units are assessed to have a low risk of violence and/or deviation.
• More open care environment with the possibility of personal mobile phones and computers (without cameras).
• Focus on rehabilitation and preparation for reintegration into society.
• Fewer restrictions, but still under supervision and with clear rules.

About the Workplace

Within the Forensic Psychiatric 24-hour care, you are welcomed to a highly specialized care operation where you as a caregiver have an important role.

Approximately 200 employees work within the operation. The five inpatient wards have 71 care places. Another ward will open shortly.

After inpatient care, treatment often transitions to forensic psychiatric outpatient care with special conditions, and an outpatient team is available at the clinic. Our patient group consists of residents of Västmanland and out-of-county patients.

The forensic psychiatric care is located in Sala.

Qualifications

We see that you are a trained caregiver or nursing assistant but may also have equivalent education, such as treatment pedagogical/assistant. Experience in psychiatry, addiction care, or forensic psychiatry is an advantage. Since the role requires communication in speech and writing with patients, relatives, and colleagues, good knowledge of the Swedish language is required. As the work sometimes involves physical tasks, good physical condition is necessary. A driver's license is an advantage.

We are looking for someone with personal maturity who is stable and secure in themselves. You take responsibility for your task and make correct assessments and priorities in your work. You collaborate and communicate well with others as well as take your own initiatives and can work independently. You have well-founded values and a good ability to make correct assessments and priorities.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Employment Conditions

Permanent employment. Full-time (day, evening, night). Place of employment: Sala.

Start date by agreement.
