Unit's Mission
The unit in Västmanland consists of approximately 170 employees. The workplace is in Västerås, but the unit is responsible for a geographical area covering ten municipalities where travel may occur as part of the job.
Together, we offer in-depth support for job seekers and employers. Our main mission is to equip, match, and support job seekers on their way to work and/or studies, as well as assist employers in finding workforce and thus contribute to skills supply.
Our mission includes conducting work-oriented rehabilitation in the form of guiding, investigative, rehabilitative, and work-preparatory efforts.
Job Description
As a psychologist at the Swedish Public Employment Service, you will work with psychologically oriented interventions. This may involve psychological assessments and investigations of job seekers to clarify the individual's conditions for work or studies, as well as individual recommendations on the need for support and adjustments in a work situation. It may also involve supporting job seekers and employers before and during employment. The work requires active and close collaboration, both internally with different parts of the organization and externally with, for example, municipalities, healthcare, the Social Insurance Agency, and independent actors.
Key Responsibilities and Methods for a Psychologist Include:
- Using your psychological expertise to provide advice and support to job seekers and employers, as well as internally to colleagues to help them advance in their cases. (employment officers, occupational therapists, and psychologists)
- Mapping work conditions and support needs of job seekers.
- Conducting APU - Work Psychological Investigations if necessary, supported by contracted psychological tests.
- Maintaining a career guidance perspective in your work, focusing on the job seeker's cognitive resources, personality, and interests.
Desired Qualities
You are responsible, action-oriented, and results-focused. You can independently plan your work and drive cases forward. You are communicative, pedagogical, have good administrative skills, and can build trust with various stakeholders.
In your role as a psychologist at the Swedish Public Employment Service, you need to be analytical, attentive, and have the ability to see and understand how you can contribute to the organization.
Our Offer
The position is a permanent full-time employment that starts with a six-month probationary period. You will be part of a team of psychologists and occupational therapists where you will receive mentorship support from psychologist colleagues. The workplace is in Västerås.

Basic Requirements for the Position
- Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare psychologist license (attached in the application)
Other Qualifications for the Position
- Work experience in work-oriented rehabilitation
- Work experience in assessing work capacity
- Work experience in group collaboration
- Driver's license B
