Job Advertisement: Nurse for our Department
Join our team at a workplace where everyone’s contributions are equally important to provide our patients with the best possible care. You will be offered a stimulating job where you can utilize your full competence as a nurse. Our work is varied, exciting, and educational with good camaraderie and job satisfaction!
Job Responsibilities
As a nurse with us, you will become proficient in many nursing technical procedures as they are commonly performed. You will work a lot with postoperative pain, fluid balance, and nutritional issues. We also have close collaboration with dieticians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, stoma therapists, and stoma representatives to ensure the best possible care. To promote safe discharges for our patients, we receive significant support from our discharge coordinators.
About the Workplace
Our department has 23 beds (18 on weekends) and specializes in colorectal surgery. Common diagnoses include acute abdominal pain, intestinal bleeding, ileus, and cancer diagnoses in the intestinal tract. Both acute and planned surgical patients come to us. Patients admitted acutely need to be assessed, treated, or operated on immediately. Planned patients are already assessed and admitted for surgery. We work according to standardized care plans (ERAS) to reduce complications and promote rapid recovery.
At ward 6, we strive to provide the best care in colorectal surgery. As our surgeons conduct much research, you will be involved as we take new steps forward in evidence-based care. Surgery is a broad competence and thus an excellent place to start your nursing career, but also a place for experienced nurses where we try to make the best use of all employees' experiences.
For us, it is important that you feel good and enjoy your job, therefore we offer you:
- As a newly graduated nurse, a full 11 weeks of introduction.
- A mentor to support you.
- Generous working time reduction for rotation to night shifts.
- Annual planning days and gatherings to promote cohesion.
- Paid further education in surgical nursing.
- 3000 SEK per year in wellness allowance.
- Free access to the Region's own gym Hälsolyftet.
