Job Responsibilities

With us in Västerås, you will find the large specialist clinic of the Children's Hospital, and you can expect an exciting and eventful job. We are a large workplace where many patients and employees pass through every day. Our operations are both planned as well as having some preparedness for “acute” situations.

You will be welcomed to a broad reception service with varying tasks where you work closely with other specialist nurses. The main placement will be at the habilitation clinic, but work may also occur at other children's clinics.

About the Workplace

The Children's and Adolescent Clinic offers specialized healthcare to approximately 52,000 children and adolescents aged 0–18 living in Västmanland County. The clinic's outpatient care consists of outpatient clinics in Västerås, Sala, Fagersta, and Köping, as well as day care. The inpatient care includes Children's Ward 64 and the emergency department, as well as Ward 69, which is a neonatal unit. The clinic has several paramedical professions working in both outpatient and inpatient care.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse. A specialist nursing degree with a focus on health and medical care for children and adolescents is advantageous. It is a significant advantage if you have experience in reception work and good familiarity with administrative tasks. The position also requires good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing, as well as good computer skills.

As the role involves independent work tasks, it is important that you are structured, can plan, and drive your work forward. Being able to prioritize in unexpected situations and adapt to new circumstances is also seen as important qualities in you.

You are secure and stable in your professional role, can make the right assessments, and behave in a way that is adapted to the situation. Furthermore, we see that you collaborate well with others and meet patients, relatives, and colleagues in a responsive and smooth manner. You have a good ability to communicate and can convey your message to different kinds of individuals with various conditions and needs.
