Are you a licensed occupational therapist with experience in orthopedic inpatient and outpatient care?

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for an occupational therapist who is interested in developing within your profession. With us, you will work with varied tasks. In the mornings, you will work in a team on the acute orthopedic ward with tasks such as ADL assessments, ADL training, and assistive device evaluations. The rest of the time, you will have outpatient duties and meet patients with various hand injuries. As a newcomer to the workplace, you will initially be expected to meet patients with simpler injuries. The opportunities for development are good as we have a broad competence within the team, and we also facilitate further education. Rehabilitation of hand injuries includes compression treatment, instructing training, evaluation, and manufacturing of orthoses. We have a close collaboration with our hand surgeons and outpatient staff. The work requires that you can work independently, take your own initiatives, and be flexible.

We work with mentorship, and when you come as a newcomer to the workplace, you will be assigned a mentor with experience. Within the staff group, we have a spread in ages and experience. We place great importance on introducing new employees to the work. We have recurring professional development with the occupational therapist group and the entire unit, which is a valued aspect.

About the Workplace

The Orthopedic Clinic Västmanland is responsible for orthopedic care in the region. Major planned surgeries and all emergency care take place at Västmanlands Hospital Västerås, while less extensive planned surgeries are largely conducted at Västmanlands Hospital Köping.

At the rehabilitation unit in Västerås, about 30 employees work, consisting of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and nursing assistants. In Köping, 2 occupational therapists work with orthopedic hand injury rehabilitation.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist. Experience in orthopedic practice and competence in hand rehabilitation is an advantage. We prefer that you have experience in ward work and prescribing rights for assistive devices. If you have previously worked in the Cosmic journal system, it is a merit. The job requires that you have good computer skills and knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.

Employment Conditions

Permanent employment with daytime work, weekdays. Full-time position (100%). Start date in May or as agreed.
