Mother Tongue Teacher in Greek

The Center for Multilingualism consists of three parts: mother tongue instruction, study guidance, and reception of newcomers. The purpose of mother tongue education is to create active multilingualism. Students should learn more about their own culture and have the opportunity to develop into multilingual individuals with dual cultural identity and cultural competence. The purpose of study guidance is to support the newcomer student through their mother tongue so that they can acquire subject knowledge in Swedish. The Center for Multilingualism is now looking for a new employee, and we hope you want to join us.
Job Description
The position consists of mother tongue instruction for grades F-9. Your work is very independent, but you will be part of a team with other mother tongue teachers who meet regularly for pedagogical conferences and study days.
Qualifications
- A passing grade in SAS 3 or Swedish B is required.
- Previous experience in mother tongue instruction in Greek in Swedish schools is required.
- Pedagogical education is required.
- Swedish teacher certification is an advantage.
- Greek as a mother tongue is required.
- Computer skills are required.
You should have a good understanding of the Swedish compulsory school system. It is an advantage if you have mother tongue teacher education or other pedagogical training deemed suitable by the employer.
You should have good knowledge of your mother tongue and command the Swedish language in both spoken and written forms. You should be able to communicate clearly, well-formulated, and engagingly in individual meetings, both in small and large groups.
You have a cultural awareness where you value differences and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect oneself and others in actions and words. It is important that you understand your role as a mother tongue teacher while also considering the best interests of the entire operation in your actions and decisions. You should be flexible and have good collaboration skills. This means you should be a good listener, able to communicate and resolve conflicts constructively. You should have a high service level and social competence.
Employment Conditions
Employment: Temporary position, immediate start - 2026-06-12
Part-time: 15%
Start date: By agreement
