Job Responsibilities

The project aims to develop the next generation of hydrogen fuel cells for aviation in collaboration with industry and academic partners.

In the overall project, the performance of the fuel cell stack will be enhanced, system performance improved, and operating temperature increased, which reduces the system's mass. Key activities for the postdoctoral researcher at KTH include experimental research on membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) for high-temperature operation in intermediate temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cells (IT-PEMFC).

Hydrogen-electric propulsion addresses the climate challenges of aviation by reducing CO₂ and non-CO₂ emissions, lowering noise levels, and eliminating harmful local emissions. With Sweden's goal of fossil-free domestic aviation by 2030, the project strengthens national innovation capacity and position. The project promotes collaboration between academia and industry while directly contributing to the goals of climate-neutral air traffic.

Qualifications

Requirements

• PhD degree or foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled by the time the employment decision is made.
• Scientific competence.
• Research experience working experimentally with polymer electrolyte fuel cells.
• Documented knowledge in electrochemistry, and electrochemical cells and systems.

• Good ability to express oneself in writing and speaking in English as required in daily work.

Meritorious

• At the time of the application deadline, no more than three years since obtaining a PhD or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD.

• Teaching ability.
• Knowledge of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality.
