Together with our patients, we strive for quality, accessibility, patient safety, research, education, and innovation – within an integrated healthcare system in Västra Götaland. Our vision and goals aim for care of the highest quality, where the patient is always the focus. We provide healthcare locally and regionally, as well as highly specialized care to patients throughout the country and abroad. Our employees are our strength and contribute to knowledge exchanges nationally and internationally. With digital tools and new working methods, we can simplify everyday life at the hospital and offer modern, accessible, and efficient care of the highest quality.

Description

The Pediatric Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy department currently consists of 5 occupational therapists, 13 physiotherapists, and two rehabilitation assistants, and is located at Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital.

The unit is part of the Pediatric Neurology and Psychiatry department and serves as its own referral institution for departments and clinics within the Children’s Hospital and within Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP). The unit conducts assessments and treatments within somatic and psychiatric inpatient and outpatient care in collaboration with relevant clinics. Our patients are children and adolescents aged 0-18 years.

What can we offer you as a candidate?

We offer a developing job in a dynamic, positive, and well-functioning unit where clinical practice, education, research, and development work are conducted side by side.

We have good cohesion and share our knowledge, supporting each other in our daily work. Upon hiring, we have an introductory program with a designated mentor to ensure a solid foundation and a safe start.

Job responsibilities

As a physiotherapist at the children’s hospital, you will meet children and adolescents with a wide variety of diagnoses and needs. We see patients both in outpatient and inpatient care and collaborate with specialized clinics at the hospital; in many cases, we work in multidisciplinary teams around patient groups. You will conduct initial visits with assessments, offer treatment, and follow-up. The unit participates in follow-up programs for many different diagnostic groups and follows up using standardized assessment instruments. You will take independent responsibility for conducting assessments and treatments in line with available evidence and existing guidelines.

The current position is primarily directed towards inpatient care, the pediatric cancer center, and work in outpatient care within surgery/orthopedics and respiratory care. Other patient groups or departments may also be involved. The distribution of tasks will be discussed during the appointment of the position and planned during the introduction.

Qualifications

We are now looking for a licensed physiotherapist with several years of professional experience who wants to work with children and adolescents in somatic inpatient and outpatient care. If you have specialist competence in pediatrics or respiratory care, it is an advantage for the position. Experience in pediatrics, pulmonary medicine/breathing, and testing of respiratory aids is also desirable. It is also beneficial if you have previously worked with children and adolescents.

Your personal qualities are characterized by curiosity, good organizational skills, teamwork ability, and a desire to learn and develop new knowledge. You enjoy working in a team and are proactive in this.

You should be comfortable working flexibly and independently. Since the position involves daily contact with many different people, high social competence and a good attitude are required. In this recruitment, we will consider personal suitability.

Welcome with your application!
