Assignment Description

The assignment involves work related to the development, further development, maintenance, and support of system solutions within both project and management operations. This includes designing, building, testing, and managing applications for control and monitoring systems. Daily work is part of an agile development team.

The organization is undertaking extensive digitalization efforts to meet future demands related to energy transition and increased share of renewable production, among other things through the development of methods for simulation and control. In this work, a senior system developer is sought who combines active coding with technical and team leadership responsibilities.

Examples of technologies and platforms used include Python, React, FastAPI, and ORM-based database libraries. The work is carried out in agile teams where roles such as requirements analysts, system developers, and testers are included.

It is desirable that you have experience working closely with project managers, solution architects, and product owners.

The assignment may also include participation in other development and implementation initiatives within the organization's business areas.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to interpreting architecture, security, and designing systems.
• Conduct system development, primarily backend but also frontend.
• Act in the role of scrum master and ensure that the team follows the scrum framework and agile principles.
• Act as scrum master for the agile team, coordinate daily work, and manage the backlog in consultation with the requirements analyst and product owner.
• Configuration of CI/CD environment.
• Develop, update, and manage system documentation.
• Ongoing management such as handling incidents, where troubleshooting and bug fixing may be included, as well as assisting in the IT management of our applications and other operations-related work.

Mandatory Requirements

• University education of 120 credits/180 ECTS in IT. Or at least 10 years of relevant work experience in system development or IT architecture.
• At least 3 years of experience, from the last 10 years, working as a scrum master in an agile team. Responsible for facilitating agile processes, coaching the team (at least 3 people), and ensuring that the scrum framework is followed (without formal personnel responsibility) as well as facilitating meetings and workshops with product owners, project managers, and other stakeholders.
• At least 5 years of experience, from the last 10 years, in backend development. Experience must include at least 3 years of development in Python, as well as experience in at least 1 additional backend language.
• At least 3 years of experience in frontend development in React.

Desirable Requirements

• Have participated in at least one project, ongoing for at least five months, within power systems (e.g., power grid, energy distribution) during the period 2016–2025.
• Have worked with FastAPI and SQLAlchemy for at least 1 year (can be parallel or separate).
• Experience in manual testing and test automation in at least 1 project. Additionally, have applied at least 1 modern architectural pattern (e.g., microservices, event-driven architecture).
• Experience using Docker and OpenShift in at least 1 project and have worked with Pandas for data processing in at least 1 project, supported by code examples or references.
