Assignment Description
A large and mission-critical balancing program within a national electricity system operator is in the implementation phase and requires reinforcement. The program aims to ensure the organization's connection to a European cooperation platform for balancing services. The assignment includes leading a commenced connection project and ensuring a full-scale implementation of a market-based solution for manual frequency restoration reserve (mFRR).
The organization is looking for a senior project manager responsible for the execution, coordination, and delivery of the project.
Responsibilities
The project manager is responsible for delivering the project according to the agreed timeline, budget, and objectives towards the client and steering group. The daily work involves leading and steering the project both nationally and in Nordic cooperation through the various phases of the project.
The assignment may also include leading other development and implementation projects within the operational area.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver the project's objectives within given time and cost frames.
- Implement necessary organizational and technical changes for connection to the European platform for automatic frequency restoration exchange according to applicable regulations.
- Ensure full-scale implementation of the mFRR solution.
- Ensure organizational and operational readiness internally and externally regarding market design.
- Ensure that operational and control functions are ready for the new operational working method.
- Ensure the introduction and reception of IT development deliveries.
- Drive the project according to established project and IT governance models.
- Plan, follow up, and report the project's progress to the steering group.
- Identify and manage project risks according to applicable procedures.
- Plan, follow up, and communicate project activities nationally and in Nordic cooperation.
Mandatory Requirements
- You must have a university degree in engineering, IT, or economics.
- You must have at least 10 years of work experience as a project manager, including communication with clients, requirement setters, suppliers, operational personnel, and stakeholders, acquired in the last 15 years.
- You must have at least 3 years of work experience in the energy sector, acquired in the last 5 years.
- You must have at least 3 years of experience working on projects in an international environment, acquired in the last 5 years.
- You must have at least 10 years of practical experience with PPS, PROPS, PEJL, or similar project management models.
- You must have at least 3 years of experience working within critical infrastructure in the last 5 years.
- You must have at least 3 years of experience implementing requirements according to the network regulations SO GL and EB GL, acquired in the last 5 years.
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in English.
Desirable Requirements
- At least 3 years of work experience working for a government agency on business development projects in the last 7 years.
- At least 3 years of work experience working with Nordic projects/programs in the electricity sector in the last 7 years.
- At least 3 years of work experience in the development of processes within the electricity market in the last 7 years.
- Certified or similar education in Agile methods, e.g., SAFE or equivalent professional project management certification.
