Oncology Department 1 is a care unit that treats all types of oncological diagnoses. Our patients primarily come from our own emergency clinics, but we also receive patients from the emergency department and other care units. We are currently in an exciting phase as the department undergoes several major changes and has newly renovated facilities.
As a new nursing assistant with us, you will receive a comprehensive introduction that is both theoretical and practical. We offer you an open and positive work environment with opportunities for individual professional development and participation in the department's collective development work.
The area of operation (VO) hematology, oncology, and radiation physics is responsible for non-surgical cancer care and research-based development in the southern healthcare region, serving a population of approximately 1.6 million residents. The area has outpatient and inpatient units in Malmö, Lund, and Helsingborg.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We now welcome a new nursing assistant colleague for a pleasant job in a varied pace at our oncology department.
As a nursing assistant with us, you will work in a team with nurses and doctors. A typical workday involves participating in the care of patients, which includes monitoring vital parameters, wound dressings, risk assessments, EKG, and other tasks included in the assignment. You also have a significant responsibility for the basic care of the patient. In the department, patients are cared for across a wide medical spectrum, which requires you as a nursing assistant to adapt to different situations.
We regularly offer internal lectures and workshops to spread and share knowledge. As a newly hired nursing assistant, you will receive a tailored introduction over three weeks where we teach you the basics of oncology.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant, with an interest in oncological care, and who meets the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you have studied according to previous or current program structures. Excellent language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are a requirement. You have at least two years of experience as a nursing assistant and have received or are waiting for your certificate of protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare. Experience in inpatient care is an advantage.
As a person, you are driven and contribute to a positive development of the nursing assistant role in the department. You enjoy contributing your knowledge to the workgroup, are structured, and good at following routines. We also value active participation in creating a good work environment. To thrive with us, you value teamwork but can also work independently and make your own decisions.
The greatest emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
OTHER
To be considered complete, your application must include your certificate of protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare. If you have not received your certificate, you must attach your grades (not just a diploma) from your nursing assistant training. If you were permanently employed as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023, and lack a certificate, please attach your employment certificate and your grades (not just a diploma) from your nursing assistant training.
You need to present a certificate of protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare. If you have not received your certificate, you must attach your grades (not just a diploma) from your nursing assistant training. If you were permanently employed as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023, and lack a certificate, please attach your employment certificate and your grades (not just a diploma) from your nursing assistant training. If you do not have the certificate, you may be employed as a nursing assistant on a temporary basis, pending the certificate.
