The Palliative Care Unit in Ystad is organizationally part of the management of Close Care and Health, operational area mobile teams and specialized palliative care in southeastern Skåne. We offer specialized palliative care aimed at alleviating symptoms and preventing suffering associated with incurable or chronic illness.

Patients are often, but far from always, at the end of life. We have a close collaboration with advanced home healthcare (ASIH). Severe pain, anxiety, and infections are examples of common reasons for admission. After a period of treatment, some patients may return home.

The operation in Ystad consists of teams with nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, pharmacists, doctors, medical secretaries, hospital chaplains, psychologists, and unit managers. We constantly work to develop and strengthen teamwork to create an attractive workplace. Each employee contributes their specific competencies where our collective efforts make a significant difference for patients and their relatives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a nursing colleague who is confident in their role and independent in their work. We offer you a developing and exciting job where you will be an important part of our multidisciplinary team.

The work is person-centered with a focus on making a difference for our patients and their relatives every day. In your daily work, you will face many independent decisions, but there are always colleagues in the team to support and assist you. The work can involve everything from medical tasks to care and support for relatives. This means meeting the patient's physical, psychological, and existential needs and providing support to the relatives. If you are interested in learning and developing, both as a nurse and as a person, you will thrive in our team.

We provide care around the clock with shifts during the day, evening, and night. In this position, there is an opportunity to work permanent day/evening shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse with permission to practice within Swedish healthcare, preferably with a few years of professional experience. Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are required. We also prefer that you have specialized training in oncology and/or palliative care.

You who apply are confident in your professional role and have the patient in focus, which means you have the ability to see the patient as an individual and their needs. Part of the work involves support and conversation, so it is important that you are communicative and have the ability to meet people on different levels. Furthermore, you have a flexible approach and can prioritize between different tasks when the work pace is high. To thrive with us, you need to be able to work independently and make your own decisions. We see that you are willing to share your knowledge and positive attitude to create a good work environment. We value a positive mindset and a willingness to be involved in our development work. As you will become an important employee in our organization, we place great emphasis on good collaboration skills and personal suitability.
