Physiotherapist for the Rehabilitation Unit

Do you want a developing and stimulating job in a good work environment? Warm welcome to the Rehabilitation Unit!

The Surgical Unit (VE) includes surgical activities in Malmö, Lund, and Landskrona. Here we provide acute, basic, and highly specialized care with wards and outpatient clinics in both Malmö and Lund. We receive patients with referrals from the entire Southern healthcare region and also from other parts of Sweden. The patients vary greatly in terms of both diagnosis and care needs.

The Rehabilitation Unit is a separate unit that is part of VE surgery and consists of about 18 employees with the professions of occupational therapist, physiotherapist, and social worker. We have a total of 11 physiotherapists; 5 based in Lund and 6 based in Malmö. The workgroup consists of both experienced and newer colleagues.

We work in teams on wards and outpatient clinics consisting of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, dietitians, physiotherapists, pharmacists, occupational therapists, secretaries, and social workers. The collaboration in the teams is close, and the paths between the different professions are short. This provides a broad competence and understanding of each patient's care needs, thus contributing to a sense of security for you as a physiotherapist in your treatment work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a physiotherapist for a parental leave substitute position based in Lund.

In the role of physiotherapist within VE surgery, you have an important role regarding the patient in our various wards. The tasks are based on the patient's needs and are therefore of great variation. Your main responsibilities include conducting preoperative assessments, providing information to patients undergoing major abdominal surgery, and postoperative rehabilitation in the form of physical activity and respiratory care. Additionally, training of long-term hospitalized patients, assessment of mobility, and testing of walking aids are included.

- We meet patients with significant rehabilitation needs, it feels great to contribute with our efforts to them. The work involves many meaningful encounters, says Ulrika, physiotherapist.

As a new employee, you will be offered an introduction and supervision so that you can feel secure and integrate into your role as a physiotherapist with us. The introduction is based on your previous experiences and the individual need for support. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to continuously participate in various improvement projects and lectures both within your profession and cross-professionally.

Supervision of students may occur. Some weekend work is included.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed physiotherapist. Additionally, you have knowledge of Swedish, at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s level scale. If you have previous experience working in surgical activities, we consider it an advantage.

As a person, you are positive, engaged, with a great desire to learn and a willingness to develop in your profession. You always put the patient in focus and can quickly adapt to changing circumstances. You value good interactions with patients and have a good ability to collaborate with the team to meet patients' needs. Furthermore, you enjoy working independently under your own responsibility where you can plan and prioritize your work. Of course, you work according to Region Skåne's values. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
