Custodian Wanted for Okome Parish

We are looking for a custodian to join us at Falkenberg Parish, located in Okome Parish.

In Okome Parish, we have a team consisting of a priest, deacon, music educators, and custodians. The parish has three churches and an equal number of cemeteries. Organizationally, the parish is part of a larger area together with Vessige and Susedalen parishes.

As a custodian with us, you will serve during worship services and at funerals, baptisms, and weddings, ensuring that the church space is well maintained and handling practical and technical tasks. You will also work on the care and maintenance of our cemeteries and with cleaning of parish homes and churches, which also includes simpler maintenance and supervision of our properties. The position includes weekend duties according to a rotating schedule.

In the role of custodian, you will meet many visitors and participants in our activities, who come in both joy and sorrow, which places high demands on good social skills.

During peak work periods or absences, custodians in Okome collaborate with Vessige and Susedalen, which means you may be assigned workdays in another part of the area.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a developed sense of good service and a holistic perspective, who has the drive and desire to develop work methods and routines.

You have education in gardening and landscape maintenance or other comparable training in green space management. It is an advantage if you have practical skills in carpentry. Furthermore, you have documented experience working as a custodian or in a similar position where your social skills have been well utilized, as well as documented experience in green space maintenance. Your physical capacity is good, and you have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. You have some mechanical knowledge and a valid driver's license (B). To be considered for the position, you need to be a member of the Church of Sweden.

The position is broad with several different tasks, requiring you to be responsible, adaptable in your work approach, and able to see all our activities from a holistic perspective.
