Are you our next Senior System Developer?

Do you want to be part of the journey towards a more electrified Sweden? Then this could be the job for you.

About the position

As a senior system developer within the Balancing Applications unit, you will play a central role in developing systems that support the country's electricity supply. You will be part of an agile, cross-functional team that delivers solutions for one of Sweden's most critical societal missions. Together, you ensure that the country neither goes dark nor stops.

You will develop systems that are crucial for balancing the electricity market – a rapidly evolving area with participation in several large Nordic and European collaborations. The systems handle real-time data and integrations with European platforms and place high demands on security, performance, and availability.

There is a strong focus on new and further development, in line with the many exciting national and international projects that are underway and on the way. You will develop robust and scalable systems using Java and Kotlin, and you will use technologies such as Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift. You will face daily challenges that require both creativity and technical skill.

You will have excellent opportunities for professional development and learning through collaboration with experienced colleagues in the energy market as well as through courses and training that strengthen both your technical and industry-specific skills.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and document internal applications throughout the entire lifecycle – from idea to deployed solution
  • Actively participate in planning and prioritizing system development and new functionality
  • Contribute to the configuration and continuous improvement of our systems
  • Collaborate with different functions in the organization to understand user needs and tailor solutions

About you

We are looking for someone who is analytical and has the ability to solve complex problems where both the details and the whole need to fit together. You are solution-oriented and find ways forward, and you are curious with a natural interest in learning new things and developing in your role.

Furthermore, you are collaborative, helpful, and build trust. You communicate clearly, are transparent in your working methods, and adapt to the situation to achieve common goals. Since the systems are critical to society, it is of course important that you are quality and security conscious.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities in this recruitment.

Mandatory requirements

  • At least five years of current and relevant work experience in programming in Java

  • Experience with container-based technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift
  • Experience with Kotlin
  • Experience with Kafka or other ways to build event-driven architecture

Good to know
