Our task is to take overall responsibility for the development and management of digital tools for crime fighting based on AI/ML and NLP. We do this to ensure that the Police's intelligence service and investigators have the best possible IT systems to prevent, detect, hinder, and prosecute serious and organized crime. To succeed in this, we collaborate with the operations in operational matters, and then scale these solutions to platforms and ML-enhanced systems at the forefront of technology.
We have our workplaces at Ernst Fontells plats in Gothenburg and Kungsholmen in Stockholm.
Job Description
As a developer with us, you will work in a positive and engaged team with system developers, linguists/language technologists, and data scientists. We continuously work to see how new modern technologies and tools can create the best possible operational benefit and contribute to a more efficient police force.
We are looking for someone who is driven to build simple, smart, user-friendly, and high-quality solutions enhanced by AI/ML models. The tasks are varied but include:
- Building full-scale web applications including APIs, UI, and integrations
- Working closely with users to understand the underlying needs and receive continuous feedback
- Maintaining our deployed systems and applications
- Contributing to sharing knowledge and supporting within the group and with other groups within the authority
- Taking personal responsibility to drive the work forward both independently and in a team
Qualifications
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- A degree in data/IT from a minimum three-year program at a university/college, or equivalent acquired experience that the Police Authority assesses as equivalent for the position
- Several years of recent experience in full-stack development with an emphasis on backend through e.g. TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Go, or similar that the employer assesses as relevant for the position
- Recent experience in modern TypeScript/JavaScript development with React, Angular, or similar frontend frameworks
- Recent experience working with cloud-based services, e.g. Docker/Kubernetes, SQL, or Elasticsearch
- Recent experience in developing REST-based APIs in e.g. TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or similar
- Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
The position requires Swedish citizenship.
It is advantageous if you also have any of the following additional qualifications:
- Experience deploying applications with Docker or Kubernetes
- Knowledge or interest in building applications that integrate with AI models
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins or GitHub Actions)
- Experience working with frameworks from Vercel, e.g. Next.js, Turborepo, AI SDK
- Experience working with code assistants, e.g. Claude, Cursor, Codex
- Experience writing unit and integration tests
- Experience building mock-ups and prototypes
- Experience conducting A/B tests or other evaluation methods
