Our task is to take full responsibility for the development and management of digital tools for crime fighting based on AI/ML and NLP. We do this to ensure that the Police's intelligence service and investigators have the best possible IT systems to prevent, detect, hinder, and prosecute serious and organized crime. To succeed in this, we collaborate with the operations in operational matters, and then scale these solutions to platforms and ML-enhanced systems at the forefront of technology.
Our workplaces are located at Ernst Fontells plats in Gothenburg and Kungsholmen in Stockholm.
Job Description
We continuously work to see how new modern technologies and tools can create the best possible benefit for our developers and data scientists as well as the operations we support.
We are looking for someone with experience in ETL frameworks, data pipelines, and orchestration platforms to manage data flows, ensure data quality and versioning, and actively contribute to the development of scalable, robust, and reliable data and ML infrastructures.
As part of the team, you will play a significant role in cultivating a culture that contributes to continuous improvement and teamwork. We work in a modern tech stack consisting of everything from virtual managed Linux environments to self-hosted and large-scale GPU clusters.
The tasks are varied but include:
- Designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL flows
- Developing, implementing, and optimizing data models
- Ensuring data quality through validation, testing, and monitoring
- Building and maintaining infrastructure for ML training and ML deployment
- Collaborating with data scientists to make data accessible
- Contributing to the development of best practices for data management and documentation
- Monitoring and troubleshooting data flows in production environments
- Evaluating and implementing new tools and technologies in the data field
- Keeping close contact with users to understand the underlying needs
- Contributing to knowledge sharing and support within the team
Qualifications
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- A degree in data/IT from a minimum three-year program at a university/college, or equivalent acquired experience deemed comparable by the Police Authority for the position
- Solid recent experience with Python, SQL, and Elasticsearch
- Recent experience building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL flows
- Recent experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, Prefect
- Recent experience in data modeling and database design
- Recent experience in machine learning and common ML frameworks, e.g., PyTorch, Huggingface
- Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
The position requires Swedish citizenship.
It is advantageous if you also have any of the following recent qualifications:
- Experience in operating and developing Linux systems with container-based technology (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Knowledge of ML orchestration frameworks such as MLflow, Kubeflow, or SageMaker
- Experience with data tools such as Spark, dbt, or Kafka
- Knowledge of data quality frameworks such as Great Expectations or dbt tests
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins or GitHub Actions)
- Knowledge of LLM frameworks, vector databases, graph databases (neo4j), or RAG architecture
- Experience training, validating, deploying, and monitoring ML models in production
- Experience conducting A/B tests or other evaluation methods
