About us

The Neuropsychiatry area is one of five adult psychiatric areas within Sahlgrenska University Hospital. The department provides specialized psychiatric care focusing on neuropsychiatry, memory-related diseases, deaf psychiatry, and Huntington's disease. We have close collaboration with other actors involved in patient care and conduct extensive research. Development work is continuously ongoing. In other words, it is a knowledge-intensive organization where we perform varied and important work, providing good opportunities for personal development.

The Memory Clinic is a specialist clinic tasked with investigating and treating memory-related diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease. Memory care is now facing an exciting future based on ongoing research advancements in the field regarding both treatment and diagnostics. We therefore have a need to develop our working methods to take advantage of the new opportunities this will offer.

About the job

A free and varied job with a lot of personal responsibility and opportunities for development. As a nurse at the Memory Clinic, you will act as the spider in the web by coordinating and organizing the various elements of patients' investigations. You will have individual visits - where you are the first to meet the patient when an investigation begins, and also have regular follow-ups with the patients. You will also be responsible for following and coordinating the work around patients who remain at the clinic for treatment. Your tasks will also include various types of sampling and examinations. The investigations conducted at the Memory Clinic include many different components, and you will therefore be part of a multidisciplinary team, together with engaged and experienced colleagues. Your team colleagues consist of doctors, psychologists, caregivers, social workers, and occupational therapists. You will also have several nursing colleagues at the clinic.

About you

We are looking for a licensed nurse. You are meticulous and structured, yet productive. You can work independently but also have good collaborative skills. You put the patient at the center and are attentive. You are solution-focused and interested in developing and improving care. Good knowledge of and comfort with our healthcare administrative systems is an advantage. Consideration will be given to personal suitability.

In the event of recruitment of nurses/doctors with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish licenses/specialist certificates.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts during the first year of your employment with us. The Clinical Foundation Year includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulator Center. In addition, it also includes service in at least two different departments to broaden your competence.
