Description

Neurology and Speech Therapy is Sahlgrenska University Hospital's unit for speech therapy care for adult patients with acquired neurologically based language, speech, and communication disorders, oral-motor disorders, and follow-up of swallowing difficulties.

The unit is located at Sahlgrenska, Mölndal, Östra, and Högsbo hospitals and is organizationally placed within the Neuroscience care area.

We are about 15 speech therapists who staff various assignments around the hospitals. The unit has many experienced and competent employees, and we maintain close contact with research, education, and development work within our fields. Our assignments often involve teamwork with many other professions.

We now need to strengthen the group with substitutes during the summer.

Job Responsibilities

You will work in a stroke unit at one of the hospitals we staff. The tasks mainly involve inpatient care with patients in the acute phase. As a speech therapist, you are expected to independently assess, inform, plan, and contribute to our patients' rehabilitation. It is also important that you can collaborate with other caregivers, both within and outside the hospital.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed speech therapist or will obtain licensure before the summer. Experience in neurological care is an advantage. Flexibility, independence, clarity, and the ability to prioritize are important qualities when working with us.
