At the Department of Neuroscience and Physiology at Sahlgrenska Academy, extensive research and teaching are conducted across large knowledge areas - from molecule to human. The activities consist of five sections; pharmacology, physiology, health and rehabilitation, clinical neuroscience, and psychiatry and neurochemistry.
The Department of Neuroscience and Physiology is now seeking a researcher to be placed at the Section of Clinical Neuroscience.
At the Section of Clinical Neuroscience, education and research are conducted in the following areas: neurology, neurosurgery, clinical neurophysiology, ophthalmology, rehabilitation medicine, and laboratory neuroscience.
The position is within the research group for Rehabilitation Medicine. Interdisciplinary research is the dominant methodology in the group with a person-centered perspective. The various problem areas explored by the group mainly concern neurorehabilitation; stroke, traumatic brain injury, late effects of polio, cardiac arrest, cerebral palsy, but there is also research on pain and hemophilia. Most members are also employed within the region and work both with research and health care.
Responsibilities
Quantitative research work within rehabilitation medicine, primarily focusing on physical activity in cerebrovascular diseases.
Qualifications
Licensed physician and PhD within the medical faculty is a requirement. Experience in quantitative research work concerning stroke patients and experience in supervision are meritorious.
The applicant should be independent in their working methods, have good collaboration skills, and appreciate working in a research organization. We value attention to detail and good communicative, administrative, and strategic abilities. Personal suitability is of great importance.
Employment
The position is a temporary employment (intermittent employment) for 11 months. You will work hours as needed with placement indefinitely at the Department of Neuroscience and Physiology. Start date: as soon as possible or by agreement.
