The municipal adapted schools in Sandviken are characterized by a school where we make each other better!

We work with a systematic quality approach with high expectations on everyone. You, as an employee, have a key role. With competence and commitment, we work together to ensure that every student reaches their goals and feels safe and happy at school.

Sandviken Municipality has a long tradition of investing in IT, and every student has their own computer. We see digital competence as a tool for creation, communication, and collaboration.

The mission of the adapted school is to promote learning where the individual is encouraged to acquire and develop knowledge and values. The school, in collaboration with the home, should promote students' all-round personal development into active, creative, competent, and responsible individuals and citizens. The school should be characterized by care for the individual, consideration, and generosity. Education and upbringing are, in a deeper sense, a matter of transferring and developing a cultural heritage – values, traditions, language, knowledge – from one generation to the next. The school should support families in their responsibility for the upbringing and development of their children. Therefore, the work at the school must be done in close collaboration with the home.

We make a difference and shape the future!

JOB DESCRIPTION

The adapted primary school at Norrsätraskolan includes grades 1-9 and offers two orientations: subjects and subject areas. The subject orientation follows the curriculum for adapted primary school, while subject areas are intended for students who cannot benefit from all or parts of the education in subjects. The adapted primary school, subject, has its own leisure center, currently divided into two locations, Gläntan for younger students and Solen for older ones.

The position means that you, as a leisure teacher, will plan and offer students activities linked to the leisure center's curriculum. The position also includes work as a student assistant. As a student assistant, you will work in a class where the teacher plans the school day, and you, together with other student assistants, support the students during lessons.

You contribute by:

  • You have the ability to start from each child's needs and conditions.
  • You are a clear leader and an adult role model for the students.
  • You can collaborate, create good relationships, and are clear in your dialogue with students, parents, and your colleagues.
  • You appreciate planning, evaluating, and improving the activities together with colleagues.
  • You are positive and see opportunities instead of obstacles.

We make each other better by:

  • Sharing knowledge and experiences in an open and supportive work climate.
  • Working together to develop the activities and meet the students' needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in the role, good leadership qualities, the ability to create warm relationships, and a solution-focused approach are needed. A particular interest in the target group of the adapted primary school is important.

For the assignment, a qualified teacher in leisure education is required.

Knowledge of autism and experience working with students with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum is an advantage.

Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and your experience.
