JOB DESCRIPTION

The Student Health Service is a department within the Knowledge Administration in Sandviken municipality that offers medical, psychological, social, and special educational competence. The mission of the Student Health Service is to promote and prevent health and contribute to creating learning environments that provide children and students with the conditions for positive knowledge development. The work is primarily preventive and health-promoting and aims for all students to achieve the goals of education.

The role of the special educator in primary school means that:

• Guide staff and be a qualified conversation partner, advisor, and support for them.
• Conduct educational investigations and analyze students' needs for special support from a more overarching perspective, i.e., with more focus on organizational and group level.
• Actively participate in the schools' student health work and support the principal/deputy principal with documentation when making decisions about measures for children in need of special support.
• Collaborate with other school forms and external competencies and make direct contacts with parents.
• Actively contribute to increased use of alternative learning tools.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a teaching license and further education as a special educator. For those who have started or wish to start their special education training, we offer the opportunity to work concurrently while studying. Mentorship is offered to the person who takes the position.

We want you to actively contribute to clarifying and further developing the special educational perspective within primary school. You should be well acquainted with the school's governing documents (Education Act, curriculum, syllabuses, etc.) and have good knowledge of students' academic and social development. You should have good knowledge of students' reading, writing, and mathematics development.

Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. We also place great importance on your personal qualities and that you recognize yourself in the following description:

• You find it easy to collaborate, while being responsible and able to structure and organize your work independently.
• You are trustworthy in your working method.
• You have a strong commitment to working with students and are an empathetic listener.

Meritorious:

• You are well acquainted with and have experience in documentation in journal systems.
• Experience working as a special educator or similar.
• A driver's license and access to a car are required for the position.
