Specialist Nurses in Dementia Wanted for Day Activities at Kattugglan/Villan

JOB DESCRIPTION

The day activities in Nyköping municipality welcome guests who need social interaction and activities.

The operation consists of three departments, and we are now looking for specialist nurses in dementia for our departments Kattugglan and Villan, which accommodate individuals with dementia or cognitive impairment.

At the day activities, we work from a person-centered perspective, adapting our services to the needs of our guests and their relatives as much as possible. You will be part of the daily work team and responsible for certain guests.

As a specialist nurse with us, you will also have additional responsibilities in supporting other staff with dementia issues and collaborating with contact staff and management in establishing BPSD and action plans.

As a specialist nurse in dementia in Nyköping municipality, you will join the municipality's network for this function and regularly meet colleagues from other units.

The day activities are facing several exciting challenges in the near future, including the introduction of evening and weekend services. The goal is to alleviate loneliness and isolation for our target group and provide relief for relatives outside of office hours. Our new working method, combined with a redistribution of tasks, means that we need to expand our staff group.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should have completed their training as a specialist nurse in dementia or be able to demonstrate ongoing education.

We expect new colleagues to be able to:

• Work in a team with guests, colleagues, coordinators, management, and the guests' external contacts
• Be flexible and adaptable as our guests' needs may vary from day to day
• Exhibit a calm and low-arousal approach towards individuals with dementia or cognitive impairment

Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is required. Previous experience with documentation according to SoL and HSL is an advantage.

As we have a minibus and bicycles for passengers, having a driver's license and the ability to cycle is also a merit.

Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
