Do you want to make a difference this summer through meaningful and developing work?
The Activity Center is now looking for activity supporters for the summer of 2026 – a role for you who have experience in psychiatric or forensic psychiatric care and who want to work on building relationships with people through activities. If you have experience or interest in art, crafts, music, woodworking, sewing, mechanics – or outdoor activities such as hiking, paddling, swimming, fishing, or training, we see it as a great plus. Become a part of our team and contribute to a summer that makes a real difference. Come work with us!
Your Responsibilities
In the role of activity supporter, you work closely with the patient in various activities at the hospital. You work to help the patient achieve the goals in their individual care plan by supporting and motivating the patient to independently use their abilities in various activities, which are prescribed by occupational therapists at the hospital. As an activity supporter, you collaborate with other professionals and contribute to the quality and safety work of the organization.
- gather and convey information about perceived health conditions, contribute to a comprehensive analysis of the patient's activity needs, resources, and support needs
- support and motivate the patient in carrying out activities and measures that are prescribed by or co-planned with the occupational therapist
- identify skills, abilities, and strategies to maintain, compensate for, or improve the patient's ability to engage in the activity
- contribute to the evaluation of the patient's activity abilities and skills against set goals in the patient's overall care and treatment in collaboration with other professionals
- document performed activity-based nursing measures in the patient's journal and access journal documents and other documentation to create continuity
With us, you will receive thorough onboarding at the Activity Center as well as three full days of introduction in our training facility on the hospital grounds together with other new employees. During these days, you will gain the fundamental knowledge you need from various professionals to be able to do a good job in the role of activity supporter.
Your Qualifications
To work as a summer activity supporter, we see that you are a person who is secure, stable, and self-aware. You are proactive, self-driven, flexible, creative, and relationship-building. As a person, you are also calm, attentive, accommodating, and respectful in your interactions. It is important that you have the ability to establish a trusting relationship with the patient; this is a prerequisite for good care.
In the role of activity supporter, you need to be able to adapt to changing circumstances and situations. You can take your own initiatives and are comfortable initiating activities while placing great importance on adhering to the organization's quality and safety standards. We also see that you have a positive attitude towards your work and the organization; in your role, you act in accordance with decisions made, the operational plan, goals, policies, and guidelines.
To work with us for the summer, it is a requirement that you have a high school diploma or ongoing high school education, and/or work experience that the employer deems relevant. Since the work largely involves communication and documentation, you must also have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. We prefer that you are a trained nursing assistant and/or have pedagogical work experience that the employer deems relevant. Experience or interest in some form of craft (e.g., sewing, color and form, clay, music, wood, mechanics, or similar) or outdoor activity/sport (e.g., hiking, canoeing, swimming, fishing, training) is desirable. Holding a B driver's license is also desirable as the work may involve travel with patients. To work as an activity supporter, you need to be 18 years or older.
We place great importance on personal qualities.
